How To Play Donut - Rules & Instructions






Objective

The objective of the game is to give the other players as many cards (Donuts) as possible whilst trying to get rid of all of your cards ‘Donuts’ by throwing them onto the discard pile ‘Crumbs’ in the centre of play.

If another player tries to serve you cards (donuts), then your options are to ‘pick up cards’ (eat donuts), ‘copy’, ‘defend’ or ‘send’ to another player’. (See the card descriptions below for a cards action.)

When the draw cards (Donuts) run out, do not reshuffle; instead keep playing until someone has no more cards.

In the case that a player cannot play a card, that player miss’s a turn.

If no one can go, the player with the lowest points is the winner.

Let’s Play!

Commence by dealing each player eight cards in a clockwise direction. (Choose the first dealer however you wish.)

The winner of each round will then become the next Dealer.

To start a round, the Dealer will flip the top card from the pile of remaining cards (Donuts) then place the card face up in the centre of the play area. (These are now ‘Crumbs’ cards).

From here the player left of the Dealer must follow the description of that card (unless the top card turned over is a card that changes the direction of the game therefore causing the player to the right of the dealer to follow the description of that card. Game play is then played in an anticlockwise direction).

Each player must then match the same flavour, picture or number as the ‘crumbs’ card in the centre. (See the card descriptions below for a cards action.)

If a player cannot or doesn't want to play a card, they must draw a card from the deck (Donuts).

If a player asks how many cards you are holding, you must tell them how many cards you are holding.

The maximum amount of cards a player can hold is 30, anymore and you are too full and the player is eliminated from the round, those cards are also out of the round.

Note*- If a player serves another player cards (donuts) then the player being served must have the appropriate amount of cards (donuts) from the deck placed face down on the table in front of them until it is their turn, this ensure that all players know that that action is still in play. If a player being served successfully defends the serving then the served cards are to be placed back into the deck, (donuts). Otherwise the player being served must pick up those cards. If you have been served you must wait your turn. If a player has no cards remaining and a player has been served, the game continues until the cards served have been either picked up or eliminated. When this happens the player with no cards can be brought back into play.

Warning - No table talk or showing cards. Penalty, miss a turn. It’s rude to talk with your mouth full!

CARD ACTION: These are your Neutral cards

DONUT MAKER CHOOSE YOUR FLAVOUR

Choose a flavour, Reshuffle used cards together and place under the draw cards pile. This card is not to be reshuffled into the deck. Cannot be used if player is served with donuts. The no more card is the only card to stop this cards action, by the next player to act only.

REST (MUST BE CURRENT FLAVOUR)

Next player miss a turn. Cannot be used if player is served with donuts.

NUMBERS (1 to 9)

Match the Flavour or Number. Cannot be used if player is served with donuts.

CARD ACTION: These are your Attack cards

(Total of 39 Attack cards in the deck)

Attack cards accumulate, except the 'Too Full' card. Card accumulation means for example, if a player is served with an 'Eat 2' card and defends with another 'Eat 2' card or a copy card, then the serve becomes 4 cards to the next player.

CRUMBS CHOOSE YOUR FLAVOUR

Choose a flavour; choose any player to pick up the last five discarded cards 'Crumbs' played. This card can be resent and a player being served by this card can choose to keep cards and/or send the crumbs to other players.

TOO FULL

Choose a flavour, next player and their cards are eliminated from round if not defended. Can be passed to another player. (The no more card is the only card to finally neutralise this action. Must be current flavour)

Choose a flavour, Choose a player and serve them ten cards.

Choose a player and serve them three cards. This card will also add three cards to any current serving but must be current flavour.
